Community Feeding Stations

Designing hygienic, weather-protected feeding spots that foster neighborhood harmony and peaceful human-animal coexistence.

Hygienic Neighborhood Feeding

Randomly scattering food on streets leads to littering, complaints from neighbors, and health risks for animals.

Structured DIY feeding stations keep food clean, protect dry kibble from rain, and establish predictable feeding schedules away from high-footfall gates.

Community Harmony Rules

  • • Fixed Timings: Feed animals at specific morning or evening hours so food is consumed within 20 minutes.
  • • Clean Up Instantly: Always clear away leftover food and disposal trays immediately after feeding.
  • • Low-Traffic Spot: Place stations at peaceful, non-intrusive spots away from main entry gates or children's play areas.

Setup Steps

1

Build Repurposed PVC Gravity Feeder

Join a 4-inch PVC pipe with a 90-degree elbow joint at the bottom to form a durable, rain-protected gravity feeder for dry kibble.

2

Mount Weather Canopy

Attach a small plastic hood or slanted wooden canopy over the station to protect food bowls from rain and harsh sun.

3

Engage Local Feeders & Neighbors

Inform residents about the feeding station and maintain a schedule to foster mutual trust and support.

Required Materials

  • 4" PVC Pipe & Elbow Joint
